Mark Bokhoven - Director of Preconstruction, Pinkard Construction Mark has a BS in Civil Engineering from Iowa State University and began his career with Pinkard in 2006 as a project engineer with aspirations of working in the field as a superintendent. He worked in the field as an engineer until November 2008, when he had the opportunity to represent the USA playing rugby full-time. He started competed for team USA starting in 2005 but then took a break from his construction career to travel the world representing his country. He ended his career with a Bronze medal in the 2011 Pan-Am Games and, at the time, had played the 2nd most amount of games all-time. In 2012, Mark retired from rugby and rejoined Pinkard as a Project Engineer / Estimator. Since then, he transitioned full time to preconstruction when he saw the value of setting up a project for success from the start. He has successfully tackled a variety of projects during his tenure, and is currently our Director of Preconstruction Services. While Mark is pricing a project, he spends huge amounts of time bringing designers and engineers together with subcontractors to ascertain the true bottom line for our clients vision and design. His preconstruction experience includes both renovation and ground up projects with values up to $100M in the affordable housing, senior living, recreation, healthcare, and office markets. Most recently his affordable housing project, VIDA at Sloan’s Lake, won a 1st place National Excellence in Construction award.
