General Affordable Housing Resources Colorado Housing Connects provides statewide housing assistance regarding affordable housing, housing assistance, tenant rights, and more, by connecting Coloradans with local services. They operate a housing hotline. You can call 1-844-926-6632 to speak with a housing counselor who will connect you with resources. Colorado Housing Search is a website with a comprehensive search function for affordable housing available units. The Housing Resources List provides a comprehensive list of emergency shelters, transitional housing and other housing services primarily in the Denver metro area. The Colorado Department of Human Services provides a comprehensive list of Colorado counties with live links to their human services websites and contact information. Your county can assist you with affordable housing options through government and nonprofit agencies serving your geographic area. Colorado Counties, Inc. also provides live county links for all local government departments and services beyond human services. If you need public housing assistance or would like specific information about public housing programs such as housing choice vouchers, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) maintains a regularly updated list of Public Housing Agencies by state. HUD also has a comprehensive list of Colorado housing authorities on their website. For assistance with housing discrimination, contact the Denver Metro Fair Housing Center, the Civil Rights Education and Enforcement Center, or the Colorado Department of Regulatory Affairs Civil Rights Division. For legal assistance regarding landlord/tenant or eviction/foreclosure issues, visit the Judiciary Self Help page, Colorado Affordable Legal Services, and Colorado Legal Services. Other helpful resources include the National Housing Law Project, the United Way, and Volunteers of America. |
