It will offer 136 beds and a continuum of wraparound services to help youth experiencing homelessness get off the streets and out of a system that is geared toward helping homeless adults. The vibrant, thriving campus will include two shelters, one for minors, aged 12 to 17, and another for youth 18-24. Additionally, the Mothership will co-locate transitional shelter “neighborhoods” for youth matriculating from the shelter toward more stable housing. Under the same roof, wrap-around services will be provided, such as case management, a medical clinic, on-site mental health services, education and employment services and life-skills development. These services will address many of youth’s barriers to exiting homelessness and will ultimately lead to economic, educational and wellbeing gains. The Mothership has been funded through a diverse donor base, consisting of private and public partnerships with both local and national funders. The expansion of services through the new campus will only grow Urban Peak’s reach and the impact they will have.
